Example of Simulation SharePoint Project

I have read lots of SharePoint and its administration and the next phase is to learn how to do real based coding as a SP developer. I have read the recommended website to understand deeply in coding (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-US/office/dn448483) and (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-US/office/dn448488). Of course I also have read lots of blog.

I have come to a point that I need to do simulation SharePoint project as a training to gain practical skills as a SP developer.

The main problem I'm facing is that I do not know what requirement specification is needed to create a real based project (in smaller size) as a training. Do you guys have any suggestion of a project with its requirement specification based on reality.
