Page properties cancel button takes to the home page

When we go to a page and then from the ribbon click on edit properties the edit properties page opens ..hen I hit cancel the pae goes back to the home page instead of going to the page whose peoperties i was modifying..has anyone had the same issue before.I am seeing this in an unmodified OOTB site .
