Almost ready to give up and go back to manually creating a site definition. What I am trying to do is create a web template that when deployed uses a custom landing page, which uses a custom content type. I followed Vesa Juvonen's blog http://blogs.msdn.com/b/vesku/archive/2010/10/14/sharepoint-2010-and-web-templates.aspx with no luck. I also downloaded his example VS project and compared to mine and can't find a difference. What I do know:
In the sharepoint root I see my main resources and content binding features. So I can also activate those at the web and site collection level and see my custom content types, columns, and page layout are all getting deployed to the site. I don't see my farm or webtemplate feature. So I don't see my template available when trying to create a new site at the farm or site collection level? Does anybody have any idea what I'm missing. My farm feature includes the webtemplate element. The web scoped feature includes both the binging element and the landing page module.
