Get PArent Site List Data in SubSite DataView Webpart

Hi,

I've a list named as Test on Root site http://rootsite:123 which has 10 rows in it.Now i want to create a Data View Webpart in a subsite which is at the locationhttp://rootsite:123/subsite.

Can anyone suggest how do i get parent site list item in a child site using Data View Webpart.

I tried to do the following thing but failed.

I created a Data View Webpart on a root site and then exported it and tried to inert that Data View Webpart on a page in a child site it shows an error. "List does not exist"
