How to reset version number in existing document library?

Hello

I have couple of document libraries and most of the items have more than 1000 version. In some of the document we have version no lik1 1,3,9,32,128.

Now I want to reset the version from 1 and it should start with lower date.

How can I do this using client object model or powershell?

I know there is open source http://sp2010resetversion.codeplex.com/.

I am looking for small script where we can reset the number.

Please advise how can I achieve this, I say so many url but did found any solution.
