Hi all,
I am have issue with SharePoint Item Updating event handler. The event receiver is not firing regularly -- means its not firing for some of the office documents like powerpoint (.pptx files). One of the user who has contributing user permissions is able to upload document - for this user event is not firing for the pptx file for other file .txt, .pdf files getting updated and events are getting fired.
If i upload to the same document libarary with .pptx file , the event is firing. THIS IS INTERSTING --> when i upload the same file provided by the contributing user, the event receiver is not firing again. Not able to crack this - can some give me more information or resolution on this.

Contributor User Name: Steven
My Name: James
1)Steven when uploads a (.pptx) documents unable to fire the event receiver handler.
2)Steven able to upload .txt, .pdf files getting fired - event receiver is firing.
3)Myself(James) - with similar contributing users permissions able to upload .pptx,.txt,.pdf file and event receiver is firing.
4)Myself/(James) when upload the file provided by Steven (.pptx) documents, again the event receiver is not firing
Whats wrong with Steven's .pptx file (document) why the event handler is not firing?
Environment: Win2K8 R2, SharePoint 2010 and Sql Server 2008 R2.
