Modifying breadcrumbs for a specific page library in a site

My issue is that the customer wants a custom breadcrumb for a specific Pages in a sites Pages Library.  Here is the scenario, currently the breadcrumb displays like this:

Home>Top Level Site>Sub site>Page

The customer wants:

Home>Top Level Site>Sub site:Page

They want the name of the sub site concatenated with a ":" and the name of the page in the Pages Library of the sub site.  They do not want the Sub site breadcrumb to appear as a link.

I need to do this on only the pages within the sub site.

Some thoughts for consideration are that this custom breadcrumb should only be applicable to this particular Page Library so I have to make sure that the breadcrumbs don't behave this way on other sites.

The environment is SP2010 and the Page Library pages are publishing pages.

I'd love to hear some thoughts and ideas on a good approach to this solution.

Some of my initial thoughts were to use jQuery to manipulate the breadcrumb and try to have the webpart with the jQuery code to deploy on page creation in this specific library (not sure of all the steps yet).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
