Replace Managed Metadata semi-colon separator with a comma?

Is there any way to replace the semi-colon that separates managed metadata entries with a comma?  I'd be interested to hear ideas that would work in Sharepoint/Infopath forms as well as in Microsoft worde.  Thanks.  Carol.
